BIOGRAPHY

Pio’s numerous appearances as a actor, comedian, radio and television host, musician and performer and entertainer over the last decade have established him as one of New Zealand’s most popular and personable entertainers.

His starring roles in locally produced shows such as It’s in the Bag, Tangaroa, Are we there Yet?, My Kind of Kai, Intrepid Journeys, How’s Life, Spin Doctors & Matuku have made him a familiar face with an appeal that spans generations,  and he has twice won Best Comedy Performer at the NZ Film and TV Awards, his series PIO winning Best Comedy programme at the aforementioned awards. On top of this he has also had many years of invaluable experience behind the scenes, as a producer, company director and programme creator for Pipi Productions & 4 Winds Films.

You will have also seen Pio on the big screen in Spooked, in the award winning film Number 2, and more recently in the ITV made-for-television film The Man Who Lost his Head, further cementing him as a talented and valued screen presence not just in New Zealand but also internationally.

He is also a positive parenting advocate and spokesperson and has presented No Sweat Parenting shows around the country for many years, helping to write and present a series of the same name for Maori Television.

It is through these many successes that Pio is in high demand as a MC and keynote speaker for corporate events and community functions, and the reason Pio was appointed a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit on the 2012 New Years Honors List.
