Biography
Josh Thomson is a Timaru born funny man from sturdy South Island, NZ, and even sturdier Tongan Island Stock. He studied Theatre and Film at the University of Otago and now has the ubiquitos Bachelor of Arts stashed carefully somewhere at his parent's house.
Josh arrived in Auckland in the early '00s looking to become a stand up comedian, and ended up nailing the assignment - as well as working behind the scenes as a director, writer and editor he soon was cutting it on stage with the big names in shows such as 'Pulp Comedy', 'The Last Laugh' and 'Night at the Classic'. He's now a recognisable face to most NZers from his regualr appearances on popular weekly comedy panel show '7 Days', and weekly news and current affaris talk show 'The Project'.
He's graced the small screen in some iconic commercials and several local TV series including 'Wellington Paranormal', 'Educators', and 'Terry Teo', and has enojyed working on various international TV shows including Netflix's 'The New Legends Of Monkey', and NBC's 'Young Rock'.
You can currenlty catch him on the big screen alongside some of the great names of Australian comedy, in 'How to Please a Woman'. And many other naturally captivating cameos in “Baby, Done”, “Guns Akimbo”, Pork Pie” and “My Wedding And Other Secrets” grace the pages of his CV.
He's toured with NZ's best comedians both doing stand up and the “7Days: Live" show across the length of the New Zealand. He's hosted the NZ Film Awards, the 48Hour Film awards, various corporate events as well as guest spots at the NZ Music awards.
Josh continues to work internationally as an actor, MC and comedian, watch this space!
