Biography
Brynley Stent is a Toi Whakaari trained actor, perhaps best known for her work as a comedian where she embraces her love of absurdist and sketch comedy.
She made her start in performance through improv, working with 'The Court Jesters' in Christchurch, and has further honed her skills with popular Auckland-based improv company SNORT who are privileged to perform to sold out crowds every week.
Her passion for theatre and comedy has led her to create a number of successful comedy shows, including her solo works: Escape From Gloriavale, Filthy Little Goblin and most recently, Soft Carnage which won her the '2021 Billy T Award for Comedy'. She has contributed her skills as a writer to many comedy series, including Taskmaster NZ, Jono and Ben, Funny Girls and Golden Boy - and she regularly creates comedy content with production house 'Kevin & Co'.
Brynley is a frequent voice on RNZ National’s Nine to Noon and is a regular panellist on popular comedy shows 7 Days and TVNZ’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, all of these experiences contributing to her developing her voice as a vibrant and entertaining Host and MC.
Brynley quickly became a fan favourite Celebrity Treasure Island, and Taskmaster NZ, and during her turn playing Kelly-Anne on Shortland Street - which has solidified her as one of New Zealand's brightest upcoming stars and a warm, quirky entertainer.
