Biography

Brynley Stent is an actor, comedian and writer, well known for her character, sketch and absurdist comedy.

Brynley made her start in performance through improv, working with 'The Court Jesters' in Christchurch, and has further honed her corporate and MC skills as a member of popular Auckland-based improv company Snort, performing weekly to sold out crowds.

She is a 2013 graduate of 'Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School' with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting. Her passion for theatre and comedy has led her to create a number of successful comedy shows, including her solo works: Escape From Gloriavale, Filthy Little Goblin and most recently, Soft Carnage which won her the '2021 Billy T Award for Comedy'.

Brynley is a frequent voice on RNZ National’s Nine to Noon and is a regular panelist on popular comedy shows 7 Days and TVNZ’s Have You Been Paying Attention?.

Brynley has been a writer (and appeared on) many comedy series, including Taskmaster NZ, Jono and Ben, Funny Girls and Golden Boy and regularly makes comedy content for production house 'Kevin & Co'.

Brynley became a fan favorite on popular TVNZ shows Celebrity Treasure Island, Shortland Street and Taskmaster NZ, which has solidified her as one of New Zealand's brightest upcoming stars and a warm, quirky entertainer.
