Biography

Gibby (as Brian likes to be known) has been working as an events facilitator for event management and team building specialists ‘CluedUp’ since 2002. From this, and his experience in the corporate sector Gibby is well versed at fronting and MCing events, conferences and special occasions for both small and large audiences.

With a background in comedy, theatre, performance and advertising, Gibby’s approach is light, upbeat and fun.  His keen sense of wit and humour is a strength that adds to his relaxed and playful style. He prides himself on his ability to read an audience and to improvise where necessary ensuring smooth transitions in and out of scripted material and/or format segues.  He has exceptional time management skills to keep proceedings on track and is an expert at rolling with the punches.

Alongside countless corporate team building events Gibby has MC’ed Battle of the Bands, awards dinners, charity auctions, radio promotions and many many weddings.

When were planning our wedding in March 2014 our choice for our ideal MC was a no brainer. We had known Brian Gibb (Gibby) for many years and were rapt when he readily agreed to take on the challenge. It was of great comfort to us to know that we could leave that aspect completely in his hands and expect that sufficient goodness and hilarity would surely result, and it did. Gibby had developed excellent comical back stories for each of our speakers. He hit the nail on the head with their individual idiosyncrasies, including those that he had only met the day before. Many people commented that the wedding flowed very smoothly and that the speech session was not at all drawn out. We couldn't fault how things ran and from what we could see all the guests were happily engaged throughout, with smiles rising in expectation every time Gibby returned to the mic. His command of the audience was exquisite, and his comical surprises explosive with clinical precision and timing. It was a real blessing to have him on board and he added something very special and memorable to our wedding.
