Prolific New Zealand born multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Lisa Crawley grew up teaching the other kids in her class how to play the recorder. Three EP’s and two albums and four singles later, she’s charming audiences across national and international stages performing her extensive repertoire of original music.
The push and pull of her musical vision has taken her the world over, seeing her grace stages in the UK, Asia, USA, Europe, SXSW, Canadian Music Week, and was selected for the 2019 songwriters residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, where singles ‘Wedding Band’, 'Baby It's Fine' and ‘You Got Me’ were created. She is an award winning songwriter, having won the Pacific Songwriting Competition, the ‘Rising Star’ award from Variety Artists NZ and has been longlisted three times for the prestigious Silver Scroll Award.
Creatively insatiable, the last few years has seen Crawley finding time in between writing and composing her own music, arranging and performing her own songs for Symphony Orchestras and opening for the likes of Suzanne Vega, John Mayer, Jools Holland, Paul Weller, Simply Red, Kimbra, Marlon Williams to name a few. She has recently signed to LA based licensing company ‘Think Music’ which has lead to her songs featured in TV shows and commercials as well as co-writing opportunities around the States both for herself and others.
In between working towards her third full length album in Los Angeles with Grammy nominated producer Rob Kleiner (Sia, The Weekend, LP), Lisa, who has featured in TV shows such as Go Girls, Shortland Street and The Blue Rose. She is currently at the ASB Theatre starring as 'GIRL' in the award winning musical ‘Once’, gaining rave reviews and attracting new fans for Lisa’s original music.
Lisa Crawley is truly a songwriter to watch. Her unique approach to writing and performing allows her to charm pop loving audiences one minute, and command indie credibility the next; her undeniably catchy tunes are bound to stick with even the most casual of listeners.
